A WEEKEND of watery entertainment is planned for the summer with the Nantwich Boat Rally on the Shropshire Union Canal.
It will be the fourth time the event has been held in Nantwich, known as one of the busiest areas for canal activity.
The bi-annual rally, which has to fit in with many other events across the canal network, will be held on June 26 and 27.
The weekend will feature a large number of private, commercial and old working boats, along with boats for sale and trip boats for the public to enjoy.
Strolling players and musicians will entertain the visitors and a special boater's evening will be held on the Saturday night.
"The weekend remains the society's premier event, known throughout the waterway as the friendly rally," said Paul Mills, fund-raising and projects officer.
"Nantwich is in a good central position and we have a local town council which is very supportive and a borough council which is now aware it has the busiest canal system in the country in its boundaries."
The event will take place on the canal from the aqueduct running north to Acton Bridge and will include the canal basin.
Tickets for the boater's evening are £5 from Mrs Moira Cain on 624550.
