THE semi-finals of the Warrington Soccer League's Jubilee Trophy will take place tomorrow, Saturday.
Eagle Sports lost 1-0 to Sidac Social, who will meet Haydock at Grappenhall Sports, kick-off 2.30pm, in one semi.
Whiston Cross' dreams of winning the treble continue. They are highly placed in the Premier Division, are finalists in the Guardian Cup and on Saturday won through to the Jubilee Trophy semis. Brian Glover's men made easy meat of Halebank 5-1. On the goal trail were Steve Keogh, Tony Holden, Andrew Hayes and Lee Begley, two. Whiston's semi opponents will be first division East Leigh at Vulcan, kick-off 2.30pm.
Crosfields went second in the Premier Division thanks to a 4-1 victory over Riverplate. The visitors did score a consolation effort from Cy Prior and also hit the woodwork a couple of times.
In Division One, Moore Utd had a 3-0 victory at Sasib - Scott Taylor, Anthony Cunningham and Barry Dobbs slotting home.
Grappenhall Sports crashed 4-1 at East Leigh, Rob Whittaker being their lone striker.
An amazing finish took place in the Division Two match between Spartak and Irlam Catholic Club. At the end of 90 minutes the score was level at 1-1 with Paul Howard having scored for relegation candidates Spartak and Joseph Bailey for promotion chasing Irlam. Irlam snatched the lead in stoppage time through David Carlisle. Spartak, in a last gasp attack, put an innocuous looking ball into the penalty area with the outcome that Irlam's Paul Chapman bizarrely steered the ball into his own net to give Spartak a share of the spoils.
The influential Troy Alison, back after a long break, inspired Talos to a 3-3 draw in a Division Three fixture with Brookfield. Steven Ford found the net with an incredible 40 yard screamer while Mike Zorowski and Jamie Green made up the scoreline.
A double win for Moorfield's Reserve outfits. The B team maintained top spot in section one by just edging out Monk Sports 2-1, Terry Keane and Liam Brophy being the targetmen while the third team kept second spot in section three with a 3-0 win against Fearnhead, Ian Dutton and Chris Nelson, two, doing the damage.
Leaders in this section, Irlam Catholic Club, had a 4-0 win at the expense of Burtonwood. Neil Williamson helped himself to a treble while there was one from Johnathan Poll.
Another hat-trick man was Grappenhall's David Byrne who, with Daz Graham's strike, gave their team a 4-1 win over St. Michaels third.
Mike Bradshaw and Tony Williams were the hot shots in Safeways' 2-1 win at Lymm Rangers.
