WINSFORD-BASED Cheshire Fire Brigade is appealing for information about the theft of a large amount of firefighting equipment.
Six complete sets of firegear, including jackets, overtrousers and helmets, three additional helmets, six sets of breathing apparatus and three additional cylinders were stolen from Tarporley Fire Station on the morning of Wednesday, June 30.
Cheshire fire spokesman Evan Morris said: "Had the firefighters been called into a fire they would not have had any protective clothing or breathing apparatus. This not only potentially puts their lives at severe risk, but those who they could be called to rescue."
If anyone sees someone with equipment or in firegear who does not appear to be a member of the brigade, call Cheshire Fire Brigade on 01606 868700 or Cheshire Police on 01244 350000.
