CHILDREN joined Royal British Legion members this week to bury a copy of the Nantwich GUARDIAN in a millennium time capsule.
The capsule was buried on Tuesday morning as part of the foundations for the Willaston Parish Council Millennium Shelter on the playing fields.
British Legion members buried details of the 1948 and present day committees along with the Badge of Allegiance.
Willaston Primary School pupils added a uniform, work and classroom equipment including a calculator, pens and pencils.
Also included in the capsule were a list of the 70 species of birds seen in Willaston and handprints of the children at Willaston Playgroup.
Parish councillor Margaret Spencer, who was instrumental in the creation of the playing fields, also buried an early history of the fields before they were taken over by the council.
