MOWN grass is being left on verges throughout the borough - to save money and improve efficiency, it was revealed this week.
Halton Tenants' Federation has complained about paths not being cleaned after the Halton Council has cut grass verges, claiming it reduces the width of paths.
The cutting of grass verges throughout the borough is part of a contract between housing and the council's landscape section, members of the area housing committee heard this week.
"Under this contract, mown grass is not collected after cutting," members were told.
"We believe it is better for the overall protection and general health of grass verges not to remove mown grass."
