CUSTOMERS are celebrating the good news that one of their regular meeting places in Winsford has opened up again after a four-month break.
The announcement in February that Asda's popular cafe was to close caused much concern among shoppers, particularly the elderly and disabled.
The closure was part of a refurbishment, costing several millions of pounds, to take the store into the 21st century.
Manager Wayne Isaacs refused to rule out the possibility that the cafe would reopen in a new form - and last week the plan began to take shape.
A spokesperson for Asda said: "Because of popular demand we decided to open it as a cafe bar, but refurbished. We now have baby changing rooms and a first aid room.
"The customers are pleased that we are reopening as it's a very popular thing."
