THE sporting talents of Michael Dickenson know no boundaries.

He has swapped a promising football career to pursue his love for the cricket and it paid off when he was selected for Cheshire under-14s.

Michael, of Leven Avenue, Winsford, attends Middlewich High School, and plays junior and senior cricket for Winnington Park CC.

It completes a storming 12 months in which Michael has also been selected to play for Cheshire schools, the Murray Smith County League, the Meller Braggins League and the North Cheshire Cricket Association at various age levels.

His school games master Will Hibbert said: "It is reward for Michael's dedication to cricket especially after giving up a place at Crewe Alexandra's Centre of Excellence after five years."

During June, Michael scored over 400 runs at an average of more than 45.
