WINSFORD Town Council is to spend £300 on maintenance work at the Verdin Playing Field, Winsford, with the removal of a block of concrete in the grass and top soiling.
However, there is unlikely to be a lowering of the height barrier on the playing fields, as the council needs to facilitate access for an ambulance.
At a council meeting on Monday night, Clr Tony Hooton called for parking measures to keep cars off the grass and on the car park.
He also suggested that the Verdin fields should be kept as green open space rather than just a football area.
