I TOOK advantage of the wonderful weather over the weekend to visit Chester races.
Being responsible, I decided to use public transport so I could have a couple of drinks but quickly wished I'd decided to abstain.
When the 11.20am train arrived at Northwich, 15 minutes late, it was already standing room only.
Somehow a large group of passengers managed to board as did travellers at all the remaining stations until Mouldsworth.
By the time we finally reached Chester, after experiencing the kind of ride you might find at Alton Towers, I felt as if I'd done a stint on the London Underground.
Surely the train company should have realised Chester races attracts huge crowds and put on more than just two carriages.
