ON a recent return to Warrington, a trip into town on a bus brought back to me the high fares we pay for such short journeys. Down in Dorset a three mile journey is just half the price.

I remember before I left the town there was a similar story to the one in last week's GUARDIAN when a 12-year-old girl was turfed off the bus for lack of the correct fare. What a disgrace! I think the whole situation should be investigated and fares brought down. If the government wants us to use bus services more then we need lower fares. As it is, my trips into town will be few.
