MOORE and Daresbury got back on track with a home win against Maxonians at the weekend.

After losing the toss, the visitors were put in to bat and once again Moore's bowlers quickly established their grip on the opposition batsmen.

Jones and Topping reduced Maxonians to 35-2 inside 12 overs, but the crucial wicket was taken by Woods, as he had A. Moores caught at slip by D. Holme for only eight runs.

From that point Maxonians were always on the back foot as their batsmen struggled to score against some excellent bowling.

Hart bowled especially tight, bowling 11 overs for nine runs and taking three wickets. Only C. Moores resisted the attack, scoring 22 not out in a patient innings which showed his commitment and technique.

Topping mopped up the tail and finished with 4-22 as Maxonians were all out for 92 in the 43rd over.

Stockton and Holme opened the reply by putting on 37 for the first wicket, before Holme was run out for 13.

In walked Pepper and, after some initial problems, he quickly warmed to his task and helped Stockton put on 66 for the second wicket.

Pepper was particularly severe on A. Thompson who bowled some tempting deliveries down the leg side which were dispatched with some relish.

Whilst Maxonians bowlers strived hard for a wicket, they could not break through and Moore cruised to victory in 26 overs.
