LIVID coach Darryl Van de Velde blasted his Wolves after a toothless performance against a rampant Bradford Bulls.

The fuming boss criticised his players' lack of commitment after leaking nine tries in the humiliating loss.

Speaking after the game, he said: "I'm not going to say it was our worst match of the season but it was just a very poor performance.

"I don't think we were ever in the game at all, even after the Alan Hunte try brought us back to 14-6. We had our chances in the first 20 minutes but didn't convert them, and a few of the boys put the white flag up.

"The effort was definitely lacking and the bottom line is that if you don't compete then you are going to get thrashed."

But the emotional coach said he had not given the players a post-match roasting in the Odsal dressing rooms.

"I haven't said a word to the players. It's no good saying anything now. They know they have played badly," he said.

"We have some tough games coming up so once I had decided we had no chance of achieving anything in this game I took Danny Nutley and Danny Farrar off the field to rest them.

"I think Alan Hunte had a good game, probably the best since he has been here. He was very good at the back and saved a couple of tries. To be on the losing side and put in as much work as he did was a good effort.

"But to be honest there weren't many other positives and the boys have got to play for the full 80 minutes every week. It's as simple as that."
