WARRINGTON kickboxer Julie Cross powered her way to her latest victory after taking on Italian Sonia Grande in her own back yard.

After being given just four days notice, Julie flew out to Milan to beat her opponent in the fourth round on Sunday.

"I had been training hard regularly and I had experience of fighting in Hong Kong, Texas and Portugal behind me. So I felt quite confident going into the fight," she said.

"I started a bit slowly and we were toe-to-toe for a while until I started to pin her down. Her eye started to blacken in round three so I just kept going for it and the doctors stopped the fight in the next round."
