Alan Hunte, Dean Hanger and Jason Roach are all likely to miss Sunday's crucial home fixture against London Broncos, kick-off 3pm.

The trio picked up the knocks in the 56-6 defeat at Bradford last weekend which bruised the players' morale as much as their bodies.

Hanger's rib injury is the worst of the problems and looks certain to keep him sidelined while Roach and Hunte will face late fitness tests on their leg worries.

Wolves' constant casualties have kept Darryl Van de Velde from naming a regular first team all season, with Mark Hilton, Jon Roper and Scott Wilson among the frustrated parties.

But the coach wouldn't use the problems as an excuse.

"All the other clubs are in the same boat so we are not on our own," he said.

"One thing it has highlighted is the lack of depth in our squad. I have been reasonably pleased with the effort from some of the young lads like Warren Stevens coming through the ranks, but it is a big step up from under 21s to Super League.

"There's a lot more at stake at this level and the players have to work a lot harder.

"The ironic part of these latest injuries is that just a couple of weeks ago I had too many wingers on the bench, now I don't have any."

Van de Velde is again likely to dip into the under 21s for covering players, with talented backs Will Cowell and Jamie Stenhouse particularly impressing in the side's recent strong performances against Bradford and Wigan.

Good news for Warrington comes with the likely return of injured pack stars Gary Chambers and Simon Gillies, who were sorely missed at Odsal.

Lee Penny also looks set to return to recover his full back slot, which was excellently held by Hunte on Sunday.

Broncos, whose league form collapsed following their Challenge Cup final appearance, are enjoying an upturn in form since the induction of new coach Les Kiss, and Van de Velde is under no illusions about the task ahead of his troops.

"They started the season well with some good cup form, although that seemed to detract from their league performances," he said.

"But they have picked up again now and they have so many good players. I have tremendous respect for the likes of Peter Gill and Tulsen Tollet, so it will be a really tough game.

"But the mood in the camp is great and the players have really worked hard on the back of the defeat last week, so I'm really positive."

The match sees the homecoming of London youngster Ady Spencer, who will be hoping to inflict damage on his home town club and overturn the 30-18 defeat at the Stoop back in April.
