A WEEK long feast of Arts comes to town this weekend. An action packed programme of music, dance, art, crafts, street theatre, circus, workshops and exhibitions kicks off on Saturday with an explosion of activity in the town centre.

It's the Second Nantwich Arts festival. It's bigger and better than last year and there's something for everyone.

The fun gets underway on Saturday at 11.30am with entertainment by talented local artists featuring music, drama, comedy and street theatre.

The Audlem 5A theatre company will be previewing their promenade tours of the historic town centre. Throughout the week they will be bringing to life tales and dramas of the past.

In the evening a Summer Spectacular concert with fireworks at Cholmondeley Castle will bring the first day of the Festival to a close with a bang. Manchester Camerata provide the music, ending their programme with the explosive 1812 Overture.

Sunday will bring a touch of the sea-side to the town with traditional pier entertainment, holiday activies and competitons from 1pm-4pm.

Concerts in the Civic Hall include Blozone R&B Soul Band on Friday, July 23 and Crewe Male Voice Choir on Saturday 24th.

Gigs at at the Lamb Hotel, The Malbank and Black Lion feature local groups plus storytelling and poetry reading.

Flags designed by school children will fly in the town and the museum has paintings and photographs on show.

A pottery workshop and the chance to try Salsa, modern jive and Line dancing also feature in the programme which will end next Saturday 24 with another great day of street entertainment.
