Runcorn Greenall Darts League

SECTION Three leaders Halton Marauders continued with their impressive run last Thursday night when they gained their sixth successive league victory when beating Draymen 6/3.

Leading the way for the winners here was K Jones who recorded a 15 dart game.

Second placed Outcasts however remain snapping at the leaders heels being just two points adrift after beating bottom of the table The Tup by the same scoreline.

A further two points adrift back in third place are Lion who ran out 6/3 winners against Union Tavern whilst Castle were able to move up to fifth after beating Draymen 7/2.

Section One leaders Albion beat hitherto second placed Halfway A by the narrowest of margins and they are now six points clear of their nearest rivals.

Leading the way for the winners was P Murphy who finished in 17 darts whilst the losers P Littler took just 15.

Dockside B were able to move ahead of Halfway A into second place on average after running out 8/1 winners against Cherry Tree A Team, although ironically it was the losers only winner K Jones who turned in the best performance when he recorded a 16 dart game.

There was no joy for the teams at the foot of the table when bottom team RNA losing out 5/4 to Jolly Brewer and next to the bottom Wanderers went down 6/3 to Lion Doo Waps.

Dreadnaughts maintained their two points lead at the top of Section Four when a 17 dart game from G Mercer helped the leaders to run out 7/2 winers against Beachers.

Second placed Railway kept in touch with the leaders when they beat bottom of the table Roundhouse B 6/3 whilst a further two points adrift in third place are Prospect Has Beens who beat Burma 5/4.

This match produced the quickest game of the night when the leaders R Turner finished in 13 darts.

Raven were able to move into fourth place ahead of their 6/3 beaten opponents Croft Magnets.

Windmill were able to move to outright leadership in Section Five without throwing a dart.

This was because previous joint leaders Dock Lads suffered their second consecutive defeat when they went down 5/4 to third placed Barley Mow.

This match produced a 14 dart game from the losers G Chesters.

Grapes remain in fourth place after beating Halfway Mixed by the odd game whilst Total Confusion remain rooted at the foot of the table after losing out 6/3 to Eggie Arms.

After sharing the Section Two leadership the previous week Crofters are now the outright leaders after beating bottom of the table Waterloo 6/3.

Likely Lads were able to move up to second place after beating Barge by the same scoreline with the losers slipping to fifth.

Pavilions and Pirates now share third place having identical records after the former won this fixture 5/4.

Halfway Gents gained their second victory of the season when they beat Norton A by the odd game.

There were no obvious surprises in the Second Round of the KO Cup played last Friday night.

The clash between Dockside B and Jolly Brewer produced three 18 dart games, those coming from Dockside B's T Humphries and J Hillan and Jolly Brewer's solitary winner S Roberts.

On Friday the Third Round of the competition will take place and next Friday the Third Round of the Individual Competition will be staged at the RNA Club when the remaining eight players will compete for the Final two places.

Play will commence at 8.30pm.
