BRITAIN'S biggest free two-day show is only days away!

This year's Halton Show promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Spike Island will once again be transformed into a giant carnival on Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18.

Show chairman councillor Glyn Redican said: "This year sees a programme of free entertainment and activities for all to enjoy.

"There is sure to be something for everyone."

A World War II spitfire, daredevil female aerobatic display and a triple wheel spectacular from a Russian circus are just some of the spectacular events being staged.

The Band of the Welsh Guards will create plenty of pomp and pageantry.

The Team Extreme BMX and skateboard show will amaze everyone with their daring stunts.

For those who enjoy music and theatre, the arts and crafts village plays host to local bands and theatrical groups.

Halton library service will also have a marquee, where popular childrens' author Steve Weatherill will be reading some of his Baby Goz stories.

Top showjumpers will be competing for a galaxy of trophies throughout the two day event.

A FREE bus service is being operated to the Halton Show on Saturday and Sunday by Anthonys Travel.

Four routes, linking most parts of the borough, will go direct to the show bus stop at Catherine Street, Widnes.
