A SUMMER safety campaign is warning people of the dangers of cooling off in reservoirs.
Jan Murray, of Warrington based North West Water, said: "Reservoirs are not swimming pools and have dangers that may not be obvious. Because of their depth and steep sides, temperatures drop very sharply unlike pools which are heated uniformly. Other dangers are obstructions like branches and the strong undercurrents created by the extraction of water."
