KIND hearted people from Bewsey and Whitecross are topping new charts issued by Warrington Volunteer Bureau which show the most helpful people in the town.
More people from that ward than any other part of the town have put their name forward to help the bureau this year.
The wards of Grappenhall and Thelwall and Orford come joint second, followed by Poulton North.
At the other end of the scale, no one from Hatton, Stretton and Walton volunteered at all.
Most volunteers are unemployed, and the most popular choices are counselling or working with children.
The new figures are in the bureau's annual report, which was presented at its annual meeting on Wednesday night.
Chairperson Dorothy Stokes said: "1998/99 has been an exciting and fulfilling year of activity in encouraging more people in Warrington to volunteer and gain a good quality experience from being volunteers."
