ALL Betts are off as far as who the new presidents of Warrington Rotary and Inner Wheel will be this year.

Police Community Safety Officer, Detective Sergeant Dave Betts and his wife, Glenys, who is area manager for the Cheshire Building Society, will be the last people to fill the roles this Millennium.

Dave said: "I am looking forward to the challenge ahead. Although Warrington Rotary is a very vibrant club I hope to increase membership and activities further this year and into the new Millennium.

"The club is engaged in support of many projects within our community and will have a strong presence at the Disability Awareness Day on Sunday at Walton Hall."

He added: "There are so many issues where we as a club can make a worthwhile contribution. We will be linking with business, commerce and the professions to promote vocational themes. On the world wide scene I am sure we will not be short of areas requiring support internationally."

As well as his police position, Dave is involved in many different projects across Warrington. He is a governor at Priestley College, a trustee of the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Trust and chairman of Warrington Youth Action Community Safety Partnership.

Glenys's job sees her travel between offices in Warrington, Stockton Heath, Culcheth and Lymm.

They are both Warrington born and bred and have a grown up son and daughter.
