I AM writing to thank everyone who so generously sponsored my canalside walk to Llangollen. The total handed over to Sight Savers International to date is just over £2,550 and there are still a few more donations to come.
This is sufficient to finance 10 eye camps or 170 cataract operations in India or Africa.
I want to thank the Guardian for the publicity which undoubtedly helped achieve the wonderful result.
