OAKMERE'S batsmen rediscovered their form against Lindow after recent disappointments - but at a cost.

Opening Oakmere batsmen Guy Groves needed hospital treatment after an incident in the third over.

Groves was hit in the face during a pacey delivery and had to be taken to Victoria Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Rocked by the injury, Oakmere eventually found their feet and solid displays from Alan Cope (49) and Adam Foy (33) began to rebuild the innings.

A quickfire display from Paul Guilford (61 runs from 32 balls) and Peter Hutchinson (52 from 29) hammered the Lindow attack for 115 runs in the final 10 overs, eventually finishing on 241-6.

Ed Gibson took 2-49 and Andy Norton 2-74 as Lindow comfortably made 181-6 to take the draw.

League leaders Prestbury proved just too strong for Weaverham in their match this weekend.

Good bowling from Steve Robertson (5-43) and Alan Holcroft (3-25) restricted the home side to 202 all out.

Missing a number of first team regulars, Weaverham battled to reach the total but were eventually dismissed for 179. Holcroft made 24 with John Lightfoot (28) and an impressive 37 not out from Keith Atherton.

Dave Holden's excellent all round display helped Davenham take the points in their Division Two match against High Lane. He knocked 24 in support of a solid 37 from Alan Wright as they made 119-9. High Lane vainly tried to get back into the game but a magnificent 6-31 from Holden stopped them in their tracks for 115.

Barnton declared on 126-8 against Ashley but couldn't hang on as the visitors reached the total with three wickets in hand.
