The chief executive or the borough councillors?
From the ongoing saga of Knutsford library, it would appear that the demand for £125,000 for the small piece of land on the old folk's club site has never been put before any committee of councillors.
It's strange that at no time during the planning stage was such a large sum mentioned.
Maybe £25,000. But £125,000 would have meant the scheme that was passed would not have been viable.
Instead, plans without the old folk's meeting room would have been submitted to be built on county council land only.
Knutsford and Macclesfield Borough Council will have missed the chance to enhance the view an historic part of old Knutsford.
Perhaps borough councillors should have a site visit to see what the borough is losing.
