JERMAINE Wright looks set to leave Crewe this week as New Nottingham Forest Boss David Platt makes a quick swoop on his former club.

Wright, 23, will discuss personal terms with the ex-Alex star after Crewe accepted a £500,000 bid for the former Milwall and Wolves midfielder.

Wright was placed on the transfer list last month after refusing a two year extension to his contract. His current deal expires at the end of this season, making him a free agent and able to leave the club without any transfer fee, something Crewe cannot afford to happen.

Wright has been withdrawn from the team's two match tour of Ireland, playing Bohemians and Bray Wanderers this week.

Mark Rivers and Dave Walton also miss the trip due to groin and back injuries respectively.

Among the travelling 21-man squad eager to impress will be forwards, Northwich Victoria recruit Paul Tait and Cameroon trialist Umar Belongar.

Belongar performance in Ireland could be the deciding factor on whether his stay in South Cheshire is a long one.
