STOCKTON Heath just had the edge when they won at Penketh in Warrington Public Parks' G&J Greenalls Premier Bowls League Division One on Tuesday.
Heath's victory score was 220-219 with J. Robinson taking the sweep 21-10. G. Montgomery, 21-7, replied for Penketh.
King and Queen drew 198-198 with Richmonds, who had good cards from J. Stone, 21-9 and P. Kelly, 21-10. Best for King were A. Hogg, 21-10 and J. Lowe, 21-11.
Victoria One, with nine winning cards, beat St. Elphins Two 236-217. J. Russell won 21-14 supported by A. Ayres and S. Grant, who won 21-15. K. Heald was St. Elphin's best card, 21-13.
Orford One were defeated by Lovely Lane One 233-202. Lane had good returns from E. Green, 21-7, J. Lovatt, 21-13. W. Eden and G. Davenport both won for Orford, 21-16.
Orford Two, with 10 winning cards, had an excellent win at league leaders Lovely Lane Two 239-206 with A. Burrows winning 21-11 supported by A. Manuel, 21-13 and B. Sutcliffe, 21-14. R. Wightman, 21-14 and T. Taylor, 21-15, were Lane's two winners.
In Division Two, St. Elphins One were beaten at home by Laser Quest Youth 227-184 with A. Wightman winning 21-9 supported by S. Lea, P. Maddock and A. Manuel, who all won 21-12. St. Elphins' winners were D. M. Warburton, 21-6 and W. Percival, 21-11.
Daresbury Lab toppled Bank Two A 220-198 with good cards from D. Abram, 21-9 and T. Lamont. R. Urey won 21-11. B. Mathews, 21-9 and E. O'Kane, 21-11, were Bank's best returns.
Bank Two B just made it against Newtown 214-213 with R. Rimmer taking the sweep 21-9 and C. Carroll, D. Dale both winning 21-15. A. Brettle, 21-10 and D. Randell, 21-11, were Newtown's best cards.
Victoria Two had a good win over Daresbury Lab 219-212 with Captain D. Jennings leading the way, 21-10 and M. Harney, 21-11. R. Dobson was the Lab's best card 21-16.
