POLICE chiefs have finalised details of their new community hotline.

Their Community Contact line will be for issues which do not need immediate police attention - including road safety and rowdy behaviour.

A hand-picked team will collect information about ongoing problems to help them identify crime hotspots.

Calls will be answered by Sergeant Kath Booth, Constable Peter Gaskell or Constable Keith Robbins.

The trio will be on duty from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and outside those hours, messages can be left on an answering machine.

Their phone number is 01244 614242.

It does not replace the numbers for the drugs line (0800 854181), Crimestoppers (0800 555111) or calls which need urgent attention (01606 48000).
