AN AMAZING partnership of 311 between Rob Whittle and Gaz Stokes saw Hartford smash all sorts of records against HMV.

Division Two leaders Hartford reached an astounding 357-1 to achieve the club's highest ever innings total and set Oxbridge Alliance records for the biggest partnership score and the largest winning run margin.

The whopping 234 run win could also put the club into the Cheshire record books.

Rob Whittle said: "It was an amazing result for the club and we've smashed all sorts of records.

"It was a good batting track but we never expected to pull off something quite as big as what we managed to achieve."

Stokes hit 22 boundaries and four sixes to reach 153 not out with partner Whittle notching 20 fours, a five and three sixes to make 150 not out.

The massive total was rattled up in only 38 overs, with the pair smashing 118 runs in the final eight overs alone.

HMV bravely battled to hang on and steal a share of the points but Whittle took 3-14 and Geoff Sharp 4-24 as they were dismissed for 123.

Kingsley got the better of Northwich in their derby clash.

Batting first, Kingsley made 193-5 with an excellent knock of 75 from Elliot.

Northwich's Mark Shone did well in the attack with figures of 3-39 but a series of dropped catches let the home side off the hook.

Northwich's reply looked promising with John Hughes (67) and Nick Shaw (25) puting on a partnership of 90.

The fightback didn't last and Northwich were eventually bowled out for 158, with Matt Ollier taking 3-25.
