AN ARMED robber threatened a woman shop assistant with a handgun.
He burst into Boozebusters off-licence in Moorfield Road just after it opened on Friday morning.
He threatened the woman with a gun unless she handed over money.
He fled on foot with the cash. The exact sum of money stolen has not been disclosed.
The assistant was shocked but not injured in the incident.
The gun was not fired.
The robber was a white man, 5ft 8ins tall, in his mid 20s. He had a round face, thick dark eyebrows, dark sideburns and stubble on his face. He spoke with a local accent.
He was wearing a baseball cap, dark blue bomber jacket with pockets, blue jeans and black trainers with Nike in black writing.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen the man before or after the robbery to come forward.
The robbery happened at 9.05am on Friday, July 23.
