Health and safety experts are investigating how he was hurt while at work in the warehouse on Runcorn's Whitehouse industrial estate.

It is understood Mark sustained head injuries after being hit by a pallet on Tuesday, July 13.

The accident is believed to have happened while a fork lift truck driver was manoeuvring in the warehouse.

A spokesman for Tibbett & Britten said: "Site management is constantly in touch with the injured person's wife and parents. The latter have expressed their gratitude at the interest that is being shown in their son's welfare.

"The injured man continues to make progress.

"Tibbett & Britten, like both the environmental health officer and the USDAW site representative, have no comment to make whilse investigations are ongoing."

The company is carrying out its own internal inquiry.
