A WARRINGTON man is to make his England debut at the age of 31.
Carl Hammond has been playing street hockey competitively for 15 years but after just one year of in-line puck he will be representing his country for the first time.
Hammond, who plays the roller blade sport in purpose-built arenas for Warrington Predators, is in the 18-man squad to play Wales at Deeside this weekend.
The defender also coaches the Predators' under 16s team, which finished second in the national elite league this year.
The senior team's fourth place finish in their national elite league has qualified them for an international play-off tournament in September.
