SEVERAL Warrington drivers were in action at Saturday's Oulton Park motor racing meeting.
Warrington's Andrew Lennie was fastest in qualifying for the British Racing and Sports Car Club's Escort XR3i Challenge. It was an advantage he was not to lose as he dominated the 12-lap race and extended his championship lead. Great Sankey's Barry Noble finished 11th and Richard Roundell was 14th.
Glazebrook's Neil McArthur qualified on the front row of the grid for the Opal Telecommunications Formula Ford race. The race was shortened by four laps due to red flags and McArthur could not better the fifth place he had dropped back to.
In the Fiesta XR2 Challenge was Tony McKean. After qualifying last on a 20-car grid in a disappointing session, McKean improved just two places before another premature end resulted from a collision after eight laps.
