BRAVO! "Observer of Decay" deserves a round of applause. Here is a voice of the people. The items mentioned in his letter will be seconded by Warringtonians keen to see some of the town's former glory restored.
Previous letters on your page have advocated the restoration of the greenhouses at Walton Park and Bank Park. The people of Warrington pay vast amounts of council tax and should be entitled to a say in where at least some of the money is spent and I am confident, it wouldn't be on an American team of architects to revamp the town centre.
What's wrong with local architects, there are many clever, innovative and successful practices in the town itself?
I heartily agree with the suggestions raised in the column. I urge Warrington's people to lobby the local Council and our MPs to make the voice of the "man in the street" one that cannot fail to be heard.
