OPENER Andy Wright hit a 71 to help Lymm set a competitive target of 174-9 against Sandbach.
After a spasmodic attempt to get the runs Sandbach gave up the chase in the face of determined bowling by Karl Wright, 3-36. But for a second week the good Lymm track was the winner and the home side had to be satisfied with a winning draw.
The result followed further frustration in what has been labelled the best Meller Braggins Cup Final for years.
Superb catching and ground fielding restricted a powerful Bredbury side to 133-9.
In the early overs of their reply Lymm were behind the scoring rate but Greg Scott, who was undoubtedly the man of the match after a superb catch, cut loose with the bat to score a remarkable 80 and aided by Adrian Osmotherley, 24, Lymm were right back in the game.
Finally Lymm needed one run off the last ball but tragically failed with a dramatic run out.
