WARRINGTON Rowing Club's women's crew stroked to success at Bewdley Regatta at the weekend.

On the first day the women's senior four coxed fours crew, comprising of Anita Marr, Sian Henrys, Gill Lee and Catherine Heywood, coxed by Steve Coxon, won three closely contested rounds against Bristol City, Gloucester and Bewdley.

The win meant the girls moved up a category to women's senior three. After a slight alteration of crew changed Catherine Haywood for Jo Edwards, a fast 700 metre course proved to be a tough challenge.

But the determined girls went on to win another tough three rounds, beating Warwick, Wallingford and then Ross in the final to give them an unbeaten record over the whole weekend and win the senior three event.

The girls are now hoping to repeat their successes on their home river at Warrington Regatta on August 7. The event, which attracts competition from all over the north of England, starts at 11am at the club by Kingsway Bridge, Latchford.
