The former Tatton MP and his wife Christine introduced chat show host Jerry Springer to English customs during filming for a new 'upmarket' programme. "I haven't admitted on camera that I am a transexual or anything," said Mr Hamilton.
"It wasn't like his normal show with fights breaking out all the time."
The former Tory minister found Mr Springer - also a former politician - to be intelligent and amusing.
"He wants to get away from his image as a merchant of sleaze so who better to have on his show than the Hamiltons?" he said.
"I think he has rather formed the view that his old show has gone about as far it can go."
His new series - yet to be sold by its production company - won't feature the shocking confessions and fist fights that have led to Mr Springer's notoriety.
And Mr Hamilton admitted that the original show wasn't his ideal choice of viewing.
"It's not really my scene but I can see why it is compelling viewing for some people," he said.
