WARRINGTON Wolves have arranged contract extensions with two of their form forwards.

Back rowers Ian Knott and Dean Busby have pledged a further two years to the Wolves, keeping them at Wilderspool until the end of the 2001 season.

They join Toa Kohe-Love, Gary Chambers, Danny Farrar and Danny Nutley who have already signed up for more Super League action under Wolves coach Darryl Van de Velde.

The Wolves boss said: "I have to say I had a nagging doubt at some stage about Ian but he has erased that and really has come of age.

"He is a 22-year-old with a big future in the game. Now he needs to work harder, have a good off-season at the end of the current campaign and I think he will be an even better player next year."

Knott, a product of the club's Academy youth policy, is in his fifth season with the first team squad. He joined the club as a full back from Wigan St. Judes.

Busby, aged 26, has settled in his first year at Warrington after struggling to break into the ranks at his previous club St. Helens.

Van de Velde said: "Busby's shown me enough to merit the contract extension. He has a great attitude at training. He wants to improve and we need players like this.

"He's a strong defender and going forward he has a bit of a step and a jink in his game which busts defenders.

"Lately Dean has been coming off the bench at prop for the team. It's not his favourite position but he just wants to play the game which is important."
