A MAN aged 79 is recovering after being mugged in the street by a 20-year-old yob in the town centre.
This is the face of a young offender believed to be responsible for grabbing the elderly man in an alley near Holy Trinity Church just before 6pm on Sunday, August 1.
He rifled through his victim's clothing, after approaching him in an entryway, off Sankey Street, before fleeing with a small amount of cash.
Police say the deep-voiced man was aged about 20, around 5ft 10ins tall, average build, clean-shaven with an oval face and boyish features.
He was wearing a light-coloured coat, trainers and a light-coloured baseball cap at the time.
Witnesses to the attack can call Det Carl Huntington of Warrington CID on 652222.
