MORE than £9,000 has been donated to organisations in the town through Warrington Charities' Trust.

The Trust, which held its annual meeting at the Town Hall this month raises funds for charitable bodies involved in caring for those in need, suffering hardship or for health and educational provisions.

Donations come from companies and from individuals, some of whom give money through a payroll "Give As Your Earn" scheme.

Recipients for the past year were: Warrington Animal Welfare, Warrington Bereavement Counselling Services, Croft Village Memorial Hall, Warrington Multicultural Forum, Warrington Plus Advocacy Group, Mee Brow Community Initiative, Warrington Samaritans, Shopmobility (Warrington), Special Persons' Advice and Research Council and Meningitis Support Group (Warrington).
