POSH and Becks would have been green with envy - the other wedding of the year was super stylish and wouldn't have looked out of place during the times of King Arthur.

Julie Plant, of Hall Drive, Culcheth, and husband-to-be Mike Unthank wanted something out of the ordinary for their special day - and thanks to the latest technology they were able to step back in time.

Julie, aged 28, said: "I was looking through the internet for places that conduct civil ceremonies when I came across Peckforton Castle in Tarporley. I thought it would be fun to go the whole way and have a medieval wedding."

The 65 guests were treated to a three hour banquet complete with entertainment from a troupe of knights, fire-eaters and various feats on a bed of nails. "We wanted to make sure everyone joined in and had a good time and it worked. All the children in the family have now been banned from having traditional weddings!" said Julie.
