A LOTTERY grant of more than £103,000 has guaranteed the future of a project aimed at helping young people secure jobs and accommodation in Warrington.

YMCA Birchwood will use the cash to fund its Pavilion Project for a further three years, employing two new full-time staff and upgrading IT services.

The three-year-old scheme provides advice and assistance to residents of the YMCA's Hamnett Court flats in Birchwood, as well as the wider community.

In the next three years, a new support package will help users of the probation and social services, those with special needs and people living alone for the first time to maintain a tenancy.

Other services to be bolstered include the Kick Start employment and training programme, a growing resource library, daytime Warrington Collegiate Institute courses and the Birchwood Youth Advice Shop.
