Olive Williams, of Greenwood Crescent, celebrated her 70th birthday this week by being whisked away in a white stretch limousine to Liverpool Airport. The adventurous granny sipped champagne before being taken on a half hour personal helicopter tour of the region.

It was the fulfilment of a life long ambition for Olive.

She said: "It was absolutely fantastic. I had the most wonderful day - it was really beautiful. What a way to celebrate my 70th birthday!"

Olive's friends gathered at the house to wave her off in film star style. To complete her perfect day she cracked open two bottles of champagne when she touched down.

"It was the trip of a lifetime. I have flown before but nothing like this. It is something I've always wanted to do and would love to do again."
