CONGLETON and Alsager householders are being warned about the increased risk of being burgled from leaving windows open in the hot weather.
The warning came from the police, who stressed the importance of closing all windows and doors, especially before going to bed.
"There has been an increase recently in house burglaries via insecure doors and windows during both night and day," said Det Sgt Nigel Wenham.
''These break-ins are also taking place when people leave doors open while in the garden or visiting neighbours.''
