WILLASTON families are campaigning for a doctor in the village.
"The community is expanding quickly and the old core of the village contains many elderly residents who have an increasing call on the services of a doctor and find it difficult to travel to surgeries outside Willaston," said local councillor, Brian Silvester.
He has written to Crewe and District Primary Care Group Chairman Dr Humphrey Knapman about the possibility of providing a surgery and a district nurse for the village.
"Even if the provison was only a sub-surgery of an existing surgery for one day a week I am sure it will be greatly appreciated," said Cllr Silverster.
