ON reading two letters, both concerning a driver reversing on to London Road, I was astonished that the second letter went in to great length regarding roads and traffic - while making no comment at all about the fact that the driver actually reversed onto a main road.
Mind you, I have seen this occur on the A559 in Sandiway as well as London Road, Davenham.
Does nobody read the highway code nowadays?
Quote page 32, rule 130 - never reverse from a side road onto a main road. Avoid reversing into the road from a driveway; where possible, reverse in and drive out - end quote.
The police cannot be everywhere, why don't we just read the highway code and use the information and abide by the rules.
It boils down to selfish behaviour and people being too much in a hurry to think about others. Perhaps we should all stop and think about other people and consider their rights to be here too.
