THE BMX Ghostriders returned from the last Summer National of the year at Farnham with a pile of trophies and as qualifiers for next year's European and World Championships.

Their successes wind up a season which has seen them rise to third place in the British Club Championship in which 22 groups competed.

Now the Ghostriders are planning their training schedules for the Winter races.

New members, from five to fifty, are always welcome. The group meets at Tipkinder Park, Wistaston Road, Crewe on Tuesday and Friday nights from 5.30pm and Saturdays from 12.30pm. Subs are £1 a week

"That includes training and gate practice for kids, mums, dads and anyone interested in BMX," said a spokeswoman.

The riders at Farnham were: Timmy Kirk aged 5 (2nd); Levi Ashley 7 (3rd); Matthew Haythornthwaite 8 (1st); Kyle Chesters 8 (8th); Philip Boyd 9 (11th); Leon Broster 9 (13th); Luke Kirk 10 (2nd); Shanaze Reade 10 (2nd); Richard Boyd 11 (9th); Warren Bancroft 12 (2nd); Adam Evans 13 (12); Matthew Kirk 13 (13th); Richard Evans 15 (16th) and Danny Heath 17 (masterclass 16th).

Cruisers - Richard Evans 15 (6th); Kev Brown 30-39 years (12th); John Kirk 30-39 years (22nd); Trevor Stamford 30-39 yrs and Adam Evans.
