BEATLES producer Sir George Martin has helped 16-year-old John Sinnot realise his dream of being a songwriter after recording his song for the Voices of Promise CD.
John's's song, entitled The Future's in Our Hands was chosen from more than 2,000 entries to feature on a CD compiled by children from schools across the UK.
Composer John and lead singer Helen Gorry,16, along with 20 other pupils from SS Peter and Paul high school travelled to Air Studios in Twickenham to perform and record the song.
Marks & Spencer in partnership with the New Millennium Experience Company set up the project to give schoolchildren a chance to write a hit for the millennium and to encourage schools to to add songwriting into the curriculum.
Pupils from SS Peter and Paul will be joining other schools to perform at a number of concerts starting in Manchester next month, and on February 29 they will perform in a concert at the Millennium Dome which will be broadcast to an international audience.
