West Bank Bears u10 16
Wigan St Cuthberts 6
SUCH was the massive improvement from the Bears previous weeks outing that coach Paul Farrell made the unusual decision not to award an individual most improved players prize, giving it instead to the whole team.
Hard work put in by the players and coach at training paid real dividends, resulting in a superb victorious performance.
Mom Mike Kenrick, playing intelligently with the ball in his hands, created two great tries from acting half-back, both finished off superbly by captain Tommy Arrowsmith.
Top tackler Jake Bourke carries on knocking down much bigger opponents time and again.
Ryan Dixon, doing everything asked of him, produced a great performance, earning him the coaches special award.
Special mention for strong running Joe Jackson and Anthony Farrell, who improve week by week.
Liam Dunbebbin pulled off two superb tackles late in the game when St Cuthberts were pressing.
The Bears now need to use this spur to kick on for the rest of the season and live up to the undoubted potential.
