ICI is negotiating the sale of its Runcorn chlorine based operations and a man-made fibre site in Pakistan in a deal worth £1 billion.
The company is looking to sell both businesses by the middle of next year and bosses are already in talks with potential buyers.
Chief executive Scott Davidson does not expect any job losses at the site and believes the future is looking brighter for ICI.
