THE benefits of the Internet for companies will be the subject of a talk by Phil Crowther at a meeting of the Warrington branch of the Federation of Small Businesses at the Fir Grove Hotel on Monday, October 18.
Phil is new media manager at Newsquest Digital Media (Cheshire/Merseyside), which belongs to the same parent company as the Warrington Guardian US based Gannett.
Phil will explain the opportunities and pitfalls of getting businesses on to the Net and will talk about websites, access and e-commerce, all of which are provided by Newsquest Digital Media.
He will also explain the full range of facilities, with special reference to the "This is" digital communities and the new Shoppers' World e-commerce platform, both set up by Newsquest.
Guests at the meeting will also learn how, when and at what speed the Net is going to change the face of retail and business to business opportunities.
The meeting is open to any business representatives.
The branch has more than 800 members . Chairman Dr Keith Standish said "The branch is anxious that not only members but the small business community as a whole in Warrington is aware of the potential of the Internet."
