WINDOW dressing, stock taking and working behind the counter are among the options available to volunteers working at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund charity shop in Sankey Street, Warrington.
The shop hopes to recruit more staff as part of a national recruitment drive being organised by the charity.
Training is given and the work could be attractive to school leavers, job seekers looking for retail experience and retired people who want to get more involved in their local community or widen their circle of friends.
Sarah Guthrie, director of volunteering said : "Working in one of our shops is a great way to support our vital research programmes. Our volunteers are a major backbone of our retail fundraising activities. Just a few hours each week makes a real impact and we will be delighted to welcome new pairs of hands. It's great fun."
The Imperial Cancer Research Fund is dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer. Its 1,000 scientists and doctors are at the forefront of the worldwide effort to find new answers to the disease.
People interested in volunteering should contact the manageress, Christine Mapp on 234920.
